Integrity in Marketing Matters
Recently, I gave a presentation to a group of entrepreneurs on how to properly structure their LLCs. I mentioned that I also coach professionals who are building a business and invited anyone interested in support to reach out.
Shortly after, I received an email with the subject line:
“I need a coach urgently!”
Naturally, I responded — assuming this was a serious inquiry from someone seeking business guidance.
Instead, I was pitched a revenue-share opportunity: a vague offer to “partner” inside her program where I’d presumably gain clients from her community — and she’d take a cut.
It wasn’t a coaching request. It was a cleverly disguised sales pitch.
This kind of bait-and-switch isn’t just frustrating — it’s unprofessional. And in a field where credibility, transparency, and boundaries are everything, it simply doesn’t fly.
I told her directly that I found the approach misleading.
Her reply?
“I don’t need more clients.”
“Do the math — what if we can make you $2K to $60K a month?”
The irony? I wasn’t the one asking for help. She was.
Let this serve as a reminder:
📌 Your reputation is your most valuable asset.
📌 Professionalism still matters.
📌 Clever subject lines won’t fix broken integrity.
In law — and in life — how you show up matters.
Lead with clarity. Deliver with honesty. Build with integrity.
